I made Bennett a mii

Bennett loves his bath time. We can hardly control him long enough to take off his clothes.

8 Months

This post is really late, sorry.

8 months! It's been a crazy month for Bennett. He officially started crawling and he's getting pretty fast. He pulls himself to a standing position on almost anything he can grasp. His bottom two teeth came in. And he had his first major cold.

Here are some updates
Height: 29 inches
Weight: 22.7 pounds

Likes: Eating, his mom and sometimes his dad, standing and walking with help, being tickled/laughing, cords/electronics, anything he can put in his mouth. He LOVES to move, he never sits still.

Dislikes: Anyone besides his mother (babysitters, grandparents, etc.), when his mother walks away from him

I could not get him to sit still, so with the help of Lincoln we were able to get a few shots of him standing/leaning

 

Lately he's been standing for seconds at a time, I counted to 10 once. He's also learning when he lets go to sit rather than just fall straight back. I don't think it will be much longer till he's walking. He is so active that he's not gaining much weight anymore. But he's still got some cute rolls! We sure do love this little guy.

Thanksgiving

Lincoln had a week off of school right before Thanksgiving, so we were able to go down to Springfield and see his parents. We had Thanksgiving dinner at our house, though, because I had to work at 4am Black Friday. We had so much fun hanging out with family and eating good food. We're grateful to have family that lives close and we can see fairly often.

If you follow the pictures you can see at first Bennett was excited to be at the table with everyone else. Then he was mad he didn't have any food, then he was given a roll and life was good again.

I love all the food at Thanksgiving. I just wish it didn't take so long to make.

We also got to have a small early Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa Andreasen. We won't be seeing them again before Christmas, so they were nice enough to bring some gifts with them.

This was Bennett's first experience opening presents. We thought he would just want to play with the paper, but he was so excited to see what the gift was he didn't even finish unwrapping it. He just wanted to play with the buttons that were exposed.

Random happenings

Grandma Judy has kept some of Lincoln's old baby clothes, so it's always fun when she brings something new for Bennett to wear. This was Lincoln's bow tie

Bennett has had a pretty nasty cold this week. The poor guy fell asleep sitting up, so we wrapped him up and snuggled him to make him a little more comfortable.

Bennett is doing this flop crawling thing. He's seemed to be really interested in walking and his progress on crawling has slowed. But he's getting the hang of it.

Halloween

I know it's a little late, but I never blogged about Halloween. This year we went to our ward Trunk-or-Treat. We opted to not take Bennett around to get candy (seeing as how he can't eat it). We did still dress up, though. Bennett was a spider, Lincoln the fly, and I was the web. We also had 16 trick-or-treaters. Which is 16 more than we've ever had! Plus there was still enough candy left to satiate our annual Milky Way and Twix desires.

I ended up drawing the web on my skirt and adding torn up cheese cloth over it. And yes I know that spiders have eight legs. It's supposed to be a "crawling" costume. Bennett's legs become the last set when he's crawling.

The legs aren't spread out very well in this one but I love his candy corn socks!

Bennett still sticks everything in his mouth, so he was not allowed to play with the pumpkin guts. He did enjoy sucking on the pumpkin scoop

Avocado

Bennett loves all food except avocados. We've tried them a few different times, but it's not growing on him. Oh well that just means more guacamole for us!

I love this smile

Sometimes there's nothing too exciting there's just this. I can't help but smile back at him every time.

7 Months

Bennett is 7 months old. Here are some stats (measured by me) and some pictures.

Height: 28 1/2 in
Weight: 21.8 lbs

His growing has slowed down quite a bit. He's not too much bigger than last month. He is moving a lot more and is getting really strong. He's on all fours and moving. I don't think I'd classify it as crawling though. I'm sure it's coming soon.

Likes: Mom and Dad, being held, climbing on mom and dad, remotes, cell phones, anything that is not a toy. He loves all of the food we feed him as you can see in his cheeks and thighs.

Dislikes: Strangers (he's going through an attachment phase), he doesn't like when mom and dad walk away from him or take away something he shouldn't be playing with.

Bennett had his first real cold this week. The first night was a little rough because he likes having the pacifier when he goes to sleep. Unfortunately he could not breath through his nose, so he could not have the pacifier. We have since become pros at sucking all the snot out with the bulb thingy. And he is doing much better.

Running in Circles

This is the latest of Bennett. He will spend an hour in here playing if we let him. Lately he gives up on the toys and just runs in circles. I can't believe how much he's moving. He's growing up way too fast.

Dancing, Teething, and all Smiles

Our ward had a Harvest Dance (Adults Only). It was lots of fun just like high school all over again. Except dancing with my date isn't quite as awkward!

I think Bennett is teething. I don't really know. A month ago he started cutting a top tooth I could feel and see it, but now it has disappeared. I'm not sure how that is possible, but it's not there anymore. Now I think the bottom ones are coming. He's been super cranky and likes chewing on things. Also he screamed for a good majority of the time we were at the dance (it could be his stranger danger phase) I guess only time will tell.

And here is the smile he has been doing the last couple of days. It makes me laugh every time I see it. 

Here is the Cute football outfit Grandma Judy gave us. It keeps him all snuggly and warm.

I wish you could see the faces better. Bennett was supposed to be sleeping, but instead he's awake playing with dad. This happens more than it probably should. He's a little spoiled.

He's been getting closer and closer to crawling. I keep thinking it's going to be any day now. Our house is not baby proofed yet. We are not ready for a mover.
