11 Months

Bennett has been learning a ton this last month. He's mimicking us more, problem solving more,  giggling more. It's exhausting.

Stats
Height: 30 inches
Weight: 26 1/2 pounds (still a chunker)

Likes: scowling, waving, dancing, saying dada, smacking his lips when he wants food, shaking his head no (he doesn't know what it means, but he thinks it's funny), climbing (on the furniture, in the tub, you name it he tries it)

Dislikes: dad kissing mom (he grunts and if possible tries to give mom kisses), getting scolded (he's a little spoiled)

His fourth tooth is finally in, so rather than a snaggle tooth he has vampire teeth! I'm hoping this new running nose is five and six coming in. All he wants for his birthday is his two front teeth!


He's been super giggly. He moves more and more and likes using his bike to walk around. He enjoys opening and closing things. Mostly his toy chest and empty formula cans. The cupboards are child locked, but I'm not sure what to do about the sliding closet doors. He also likes putting things 'away'. Everything goes in the toy chest. If I can't find something I usually look there. He's also really good at putting his blocks into cans.

He's a wiggle worm never sitting still just like his daddy. It's fun to watch him explore and learn new things. Now if I could get him to say mama.


We tried really hard to make him stand, but he was not having it.

Grandpa's Visit

Grandpa Andreasen had a lecture in Rockford this weekend which means he got to come visit! Bennett had lots of fun showing grandpa all the new things he's learned. He even cuddled up when it was nap time.

Bennett is not quite walking on his own, but he's gotten really good at maneuvering around furniture and walking with his motor cycle.

Note: At 1:24 he scowls. This is a frequent expression on his face these days.

Snow Day

We got some snow a few days ago. This is the most now we've had all year, so we had to build a snow man. Bennett was a little less enthused, although, he did like licking the snow.

I forgot to actually take a picture of the snow man. I'll post it when I get one.

First Word

Bennett has been jabbering for awhile now, but if you pull out the camera he stops. So I apologize that the first of the video is the back of his head. Also, he doesn't say mama unless he's mad and then he screams MOM. Everything is 'dada' right now, as Bennett emphatically demonstrates at the end of this clip.

Flood

So the vacant apartment behind us had a pipe burst which flooded our apartment Sunday morning.

We had to pull out everything from two of our closets and then gate everything off so the baby didn't get into the mess.

This picture doesn't properly show how much water there really was. There was about an inch that I spent an hour trying to contain and mop up.

One of the nice things about living in an apartment is they pay to have it cleaned up. This is after everything was dry and the carpets had been cleaned! Just over 24 hours later.

This Guy!!

He's been dancing a lot lately. Every time we turn on music he bounces. This isn't a great video of it, but I love his 'squishy face'.

Valentines Day

Valentines was pretty low key again. A night in with a yummy lamb dinner. It's tradition, and I like it. see past lamb dinners here and here

I got a great deal this year on my crystal that I couldn't pass up. It adds just a little something extra.

Snaggle Tooth

Not only has this guy learned to open the cupboards he's pulling everything out and climbing in them.

The other day he was playing with the hamper and got it hooked to his arm

He crawled around for 10 minutes with it on his back before getting sick of it

I posted this on Facebook already, but I love it. This is the face he makes when we say 'squishy face' (also you can see his snaggle tooth)
